IQAC, SUB Hosts Workshop on Higher Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation
IQAC, SUB organized a workshop titled "𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡" on 27 June 2026 at the Seminar Room of the university. The workshop was conducted by Professor Nasir Uddin Ahammed, Director (Accreditation), Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC), Ministry of Education, Bangladesh. As the resource person, Professor Ahammed provided a comprehensive overview of the national accreditation framework, quality assurance mechanisms, and the institutional preparations required to achieve accreditation standards in higher education.
The workshop was graced by the presence of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Akhter Hossain Khan. In his address, the Vice Chancellor drew on his recent visit to Pakistan alongside UGC members, noting that neighboring countries have made significant strides in quality assurance and accreditation. He urged the SUB faculty members to act swiftly and work collectively, emphasizing that SUB must accelerate its efforts to keep pace with regional progress and uphold its vision to empower our students to become future leaders, thinkers, and global citizens. Professor Dr. Md. Hassan Kawsar, Hon’ble Treasurer, stressed in his welcome address that accreditation should be a foremost priority for every faculty member, regardless of their discipline or role and affirmed the need of the proper documentation and consolidation of existing achievements for the accreditation process.
The workshop was attended by the Deans of all four Schools of the university, viz. Professor Dr. K. M. Anwarul Islam, Dean, School of Business and Social Studies; Professor Dr. Md. Anower Hussain, Dean, School of Health Sciences; Professor Md. Saiful Islam Pathan, Dean, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences; and Professor Mohammad Ali Naqi, Dean, School of Science and Technology; the Chairpersons and faculty members of all departments from across all disciplines. The workshop was artfully anchored by Ms. Tanjina Binte Amin, Lecturer, Department of English Studies. The session featured a highly engaging Question-and-Answer segment, covering a wide range of practical concerns from the faculty members, including accreditation requirements, self-assessment processes, documentation standards, and quality enhancement strategies. Professor Ahammed responded to each query with detailed explanations and practical insights, making the discussion informative and participatory. The workshop concluded on a formal and celebratory note, as the Honorable Vice Chancellor, together with the Deans of all four Schools, the Director and other members of IQAC, and the Director, Institute of Skill Development and Continuing Education (ISDCE), presented a commemorative crest and gift to Professor Nasir Uddin Ahammed, in recognition of his invaluable contribution to the session.
