Nushrat Ara

MA in TESOL (DU)

Nushrat Ara completed her BA (Honours) in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) at Department of English Language, Institute of Modern Languages (IML), University of Dhaka. Prior to joining State University of Bangladesh, she had been working as a Fellow in the Chattogram cohort in Teach for Bangladesh. Currently, she is working as a Program coordinator and Volunteer Head in TESOL Society of Bangladesh, an organization for national and international ELT researchers and practitioners. She has been involved in different freelancing projects relevant to content writing and translating. For enhancing her competence and proficiency, she has participated in various workshops, seminars, webinars and conferences. She has been working as a research assistant in different projects for almost 2 years. She has been a representative in Bangladesh- China Youth camp 2018 and was involved in several extracurricular (cultural and voluntary) activities. Her research interest includes education based research including teaching techniques, curriculum and material development, technology in education and sociolinguistics.

2.   Representation of Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) in the English for Today: Content analysis of primary, secondary and higher secondary level textbooks in Bangladesh. (MA Thesis; Publication in progress)
