Dr. Md. Hassan Kawsar, a Professor of Pharmacy, State University of Bangladesh (SUB), has obtained his graduation and post-graduation from Jahangirnagar University. He was awarded PhD on Natural Products Chemistry from the same University. So far he has published over 80 research papers in different international and national journals. Dr. Hassan has three decades of teaching and research experience. He has been teaching in different universities since 1994. He has served as the Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy, BGC Trust University, Chittagong, from February 2008 to August 2008 and Head of the Department of Pharmacy, Dhaka International University from September 2008 to April 2012. Prior to those he joined the Department of Pharmacy, University of Science and Technology, Chittagong (USTC) in 1994 which is the oldest Pharmacy Department in the private universities of Bangladesh and he is one of the founders of that department. Dr. Hassan is the General Secretary of Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Society (BPS) from 2012 to till date and Executive Member of the Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh, the governmental regulatory body of pharmacy education and profession in the country from 2018 to till date. He is also a Council Member of the Federation of Asian Pharmacists Association (FAPA). He is taking part in various governmental committees, constituted for the formation and upgradation of the different health and drug related policies, as an expert. Dr. Hassan participated in many national and international seminars and conferences and delivered invited and plenary lectures. He has also chaired sessions in different seminars and conferences. He is also representing Bangladesh in different international drug and pharmacy related forum since 2012. Dr. Hassan is the member of Editorial Board of Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Journal. He is the recipient of several awards from home and abroad, including “Global Pharmacy Champion Award 2018”.
