State University of Bangladesh (SUB) proudly inaugurated its Research and Publication Department on 1 August 2026, marking an important step toward strengthening research excellence, promoting quality academic publications, and fostering impactful, solution-oriented research.

The inauguration ceremony was honored by the presence of Professor Dr. Ruhul Abid, MD, PhD, Professor at Brown University Alpert Medical School; Co-Director of the Cardiovascular Fellowship Program; Member of the Global Health Advisory Committee at Brown University; and President of Health and Education for All (HAEFA), as the Chief Guest.

Professor Dr. Ruhul Abid formally inaugurated the department and delivered an insightful presentation titled “Research and Publication in Improving Clinical and Health Care Delivery Service.” His presentation highlighted the importance of research in improving healthcare services, addressing real-world challenges, and creating meaningful impact in society.

The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. A. M. Shamim, President of the Board of Trustees, SUB. The event was also addressed by distinguished academicians and professionals, including Prof. Dr. M. A. Rashid, Prof. Dr. Asif Nazrul, and Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. Afzalur Rahman.

In his closing remarks, Prof. Dr. Md. Hassan Kawsar, Acting Vice Chancellor of SUB, emphasized the department’s role in promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, advancing quality research and scholarly publications, and contributing to society, healthcare, industry, and national development through knowledge-driven solutions.

The ceremony was attended by the deans of different schools, the proctor, department chairpersons, faculty members, researchers, and university officials.

Through the establishment of the Research and Publication Department, SUB reaffirms its commitment to building a vibrant research culture and transforming knowledge into meaningful impact.
