Introduction
The B.Sc. in Data Science and Engineering program at State
University of Bangladesh is designed to prepare skilled professionals capable
of transforming data into meaningful insights for decision-making in today’s
knowledge-driven world. As a leading institution committed to academic
excellence, innovation, and industry-oriented education, the university
emphasizes modern teaching practices, research engagement and the development
of future-ready graduates. The program addresses the growing demand for data specialists
across diverse sectors including information technology, finance and banking,
healthcare, telecommunications, manufacturing, e-commerce, business analytics,
government agencies, research organizations, and artificial intelligence–based
industries.
The program offers a comprehensive curriculum that integrates
computer science, statistics, artificial intelligence, business intelligence
and data analytics. Courses are conducted using modern technologies with strong
emphasis on hands-on training, practical projects, and real-world applications.
Students develop a solid foundation in programming, data structures, databases,
machine learning, big data technologies and data visualization while gaining
opportunities to study advanced topics such as deep learning, natural language
processing, and intelligent data systems.
Graduates of the program are well prepared for careers as Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Analysts, AI Engineers, Business Intelligence Analysts, Data Engineers, Bioinformatics Analysts, Healthcare Analysts and Research Professionals. With a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge, practical training, and project-based learning, the program ensures high-quality education aligned with the rapidly evolving data-driven technological landscape.
Admission Requirements:
For
students under National Curriculum:
Minimum GPA 2.50 in both SSC and HSC or equivalent.
Admission Requirements for
students from English Medium:
O-Level:
at least 5 courses
A-Level:
at least 2 courses
In the above two examinations at least four subjects among seven
subjects must have B grade or GPA 4.0 (out of 5.0) and in remaining three
subjects must have C grade or GPA 3.5 (out of 5)
