Prof. Dr. Abu Shams Mohammad Mahmudul Hoque is currently working as a Professor of the Department of Business Studies in State University of Bangladesh. He is an accomplished academic with expertise in the fields of marketing and entrepreneurship. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Marketing from the Universiti of Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Malaysia. His doctoral thesis focused on exploring the effects of relationship marketing and entrepreneurial marketing strategies on the performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Bangladesh.
Dr. Hoque has a strong computer literacy background and is proficient in various statistical software such as SPSS, SEM-AMOS, and SEM-PLS. He is also skilled in qualitative data analysis software like ATLAS.ti and has experience using mind mapping software such as MindMap and MindMaple. Furthermore, he is familiar with research paper managing software such as Mendeley and EndNote.
His contributions to academia have been recognized with several awards. He received the Best Paper Award at the International Academic Conference on Business and Economics (IACBE 2017) and the 1st International Conference on Business and Management (ICBM2017) for his outstanding research work. Dr. Hoque has also been a recipient of prestigious scholarships, including the ICCR Scholarship from the Indian Government during his studies at the University of Pune and the Dhaka Board Scholarship from the Bangladesh Government during his college education.
In terms of professional experience, Prof. Hoque has held various administrative and teaching positions. He has been serving as the Head of BBA & MBA Program at Primeasia University in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has been involved in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in marketing, research methodology, entrepreneurship, and small business management. His teaching approach emphasizes the latest industry trends and research findings, and he has been actively involved in mentoring and advising students.
As an active researcher, Prof. Hoque has published numerous articles in international peer-reviewed journals. He has also presented his research findings at various conferences, including the ASIA International Multidisciplinary Conference and the International Academic Conference on Business and Economics. Dr. Hoque's dedication to academia extends beyond his teaching and research roles. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Sustainable Tourism and Entrepreneurship (JoSTE), where he oversees the publication process and ensures the journal's high standards are maintained. He has served as a reviewer for various academic journals and conferences, including the Journal of Global Economics, Management and Business Research and the Indian Journal of Science and Technology.
